The Sickle Cell Transition E-Learning Program (STEP) program consists of videos designed as educational modules with interactive pre and post quizzes. The series is designed to help teens with sickle cell disease successfully transition to adult medical care. Each module discusses different topics. The videos are not intended to take the place of the care and attention of your personal doctor. Our aim is to promote active participation in your care and treatment by providing information and education. Questions about individual health concerns or specific treatment options should be discussed with your doctor. The program was funded by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ALSAC and a grant from the Verizon Foundation.
Each video has interactive pre- and post- quizzes. To watch the videos and take the quizzes, click on the links below. The goal is 6 modules; each video will be posted as it is completed. Test your knowledge about sickle cell disease and find out your results instantly. It is a fun, interactive experience. You can even print your results and take them to your health care provider. At St. Jude – bring the results to your nurse case manager and earn points. Just a tip: the quizzes become progressively more challenging with each module, so you will need to pay attention to the videos.
